You are invited to attend the Das Frank Kush Family Fun Foot Race. The 39th annual Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake and the Frank Kush Youth Foundation have partnered to produce the 20th Annual Frank Kush Run & Walk in which the legendary Arizona State University football coach and College Football Hall-of-Famer will be on hand to encourage participants. Now known as the “das Frank Kush Oktoberfest Family Fun Foot Race” the event will provide additional Oktoberfest “oomp-pah-pah and further solidify the charitable work of both organizations.
Das Foot Race proceeds will benefit the Frank Kush Youth Foundation which will in turn benefit Tempe Elementary and Kyrene Elementary School District foundations through the purchase of physical activity equipment.. Either district or any other school or school district in Arizona will receive a $250 donation or more from the Frank Kush Youth Foundation and Gopher Sports for the purchase of physical activity equipment with the registration of at least 50 race participants. Depending on the needs of the school or district the donation need not be limited to athletic equipment. Das Foot Race will also benefit Tempe Sister City Corporation. This year, 2011, is the 40th anniversary of Tempe Sister City. Every year since 1972, Tempe Sister City, a non-profit, has sent up to 32 high school students between their junior and senior years on a life changing foreign exchange to one of Tempe’s eight sister cities. Tempe Sister City also has a vibrant educator and professional exchange program. In all cases, the airfare cost is entirely provided by Tempe Sister City.

Friday, October 7th, from 3pm to 7pm. Entry fees at this packet pick-up will be the same as early registration fees before October 6th. Participants will receive a 10% discount at Road Runner Sports on purchases at this packet pick-up.

For the 1 Mile Run/Walk – All ages

Family of 4 (same household) for all events is $35.00 before October 6th. Each additional family member (same household) will be $5.00 each. After October 6th the fee for a family of 4 (same household) will be $45.00 and $5.00 for each additional family member (same household).

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no dogs allowed on the course this year.
PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE
All participants, ages 16 and over, will receive a fantastic tech shirt, an Oktoberfest souvenir mug and a beverage coupon (that would be beer coupon for adults 21 and over, so be sure to bring your ID). All participants under 21 will receive a soft drink coupon. All children 15 and under will receive a cotton t-shirt, special Oktoberfest souvenir mug, and medal. Additional drink tickets will be available for purchase.
AWARDS
Plaques are awarded to the first overall male and female 5 Mile Run and 5K Run winners. The overall male and female winners will also receive a $120 Gift Certificate from Road Runner Sports. First place awards are presented to winners in each age category for the 5 Mile and 5K Run/Walk. Age Categories: 7 & Under. 8-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.
AWARDS FOR BEST COSTUME
There will be a Gift Certificate for $120 from Road Runner Sports for the first place best costume male and female. So let’s get in the spirit of Oktoberfest. We dare you to run in your lederhosen!
